Review for Nokia N95

Here is a comprehensive review of the Nokia N95 which is one of the most powerful offerings from the Worldwide leader in Mobile phones, Nokia. I hope this will help people to decide on buying it now or to wait a little more for the price tag to come down

The new Nokia N81

The new Nokia N81 from Nokia is a great looking piece of work but I must say I haven’t seen it in actuality. The phone is an iPhone wannabe with the interface designed in such a way and the all black color. It has an 8GB storage for putting on it all the music that you will ever want (at least for the next year or so…)
The phone is beautifully and aesthetically designed and is a pleasure to the eyes. I hope it is available here soon so that I can go for it (if it fits into my budget ofcourse!).
The phone has already been launched in India along with the N95 Music Edition which is also an all-black version of the phone with an 8GB storage capacity. Nokia is sure coming up with interesting phones and as long as people (like me) lap up the phones with an apetite, we can rest assured that Nokia is going to churn out good phones after phones. After all, being the leader in Cellphones, you can’t expect them to just hang in there, do you?

N95 8GB is THE Phone to Purchase

If you are looking forward to purchase a phone within the next 1-3 months, then I must tell you that you should go for the Nokia N95-8GB. It is a damn good phone. Nokia did redesign this phone and increased it’s screen size for a better viewing experience for movies or your own shot videos and also increased the internal memory to 8 GB which I think is good enough for let’s say a year at the least.
Actually when I went out yesterday to the market to have a look at the available models out there, I found that the features I was looking forward to were really either too expensive or what not present in the mid-end models that are available.
Although the phone’s slider design is something I don’t really approve of, the other features weigh in favor of the N95-8GB.

I mean how many phones out there can boast of an impressive line-up of features such as:
a big screen to satisfy your viewing needs
built-in GPS for letting you NOT turn into that dead-end alley that you are trying to avoid
Wi-Fi Connectivity for a full-fledged internet or intranet usage
A 5 MP carl-Zeiss Camera to staisfy your photography/videography cravings
So, for my own purchase, I would rather wait collect the money required to get my hands on this baby and then will go for it

Got My Nokia N82 on 20th August

I have finally managed to purchase one of the coolest phones around with some of the most wanted features ever to grace a Smartphone.

On the night of 20th August 2008, I visited the nearby Haddad Telecom store (an authorized Nokia dealership chain) and after much contemplation and comparison between the Nokia N95 8GB and the Nokia N82, I decided to go for the latter (when I say much contemplation and blah blah blah, please understand that I made the store executive go crazy!).

Tube’ Unveiled: The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

Nokia has finally unveiled it’s much touted iPhone rival device earlier code-named the ‘Tube’. The new device is the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. The phone has a 3.2″ touchscreen device and is intended to be more of a multimedia device as is evident with it’s positioning (under the XpressMusic brand) in Nokia’s lineup.

By 2008, rivals had realised the importance of the iPhone and Apple itself introduced a better version iPhone 3G. By end of 2008, the world’s no. 1 phone maker, Nokia, announced the 5800 XpressMusic which gave a stamp of legitimacy to the iPhone’s brand of phonomics.
Following Nokia, other makers introduced their own versions of iPhone beater phones. SonyEriccsson has released the Xperia X1, BlackBerry the Storm, Samsung the Omnia and HTC has introduced the Touch HD.

TouchScreen Mobile Shootout: Nokia 5800 XpressMusic vs. Xperia X1 vs. BlackBerry Storm vs. Samsung Omnia

2009 is truly the year of innovation for the touchscreen based phones. In 2007, Apple set in motion a trend that many ignored. By introducing the ground breaking (well, not exactly) iPhone, Apple set in motion a renewed mass interest in touchscreen phones which until then were considered only novelty toys.

Motorokr E8 mobile

Motorola's line of music-friendly handsets didn't make the greatest debut with the ultimately flawed Motorokr E1, although its successor, the Motorokr E8, shows the mobile-maker has learnt a new trick or two. The slimmer and more stylish ROKR E8 has a virtual keypad, standard five-way navigation buttons and an innovative touch-sensitive wheel for scrolling through menus and lists.
One of the handset's main drawcards is ModeShift technology that lights up a different set of keys depending on whether the handset is in phone, music or camera mode. Coupled with haptic vibration technology, which confirms the pressing of a virtual key, the result is superior to many conventional keypads.
Musically, the ROKR E8 can play back all the main digital audio formats, which are searchable in various ways, including by composer, genre, artist and album. Playlists can be created easily.
Other music features include a 3.5mm socket for standard earphones and a microSD slot for adding to the 2GB of built-in memory. This ARIA Edition of the ROKR E8 provides online links to the ARIA weekly Top 10 downloadable songs.
The wheel is a convenient alternative to the standard navigation keys, particularly when searching long lists of contacts and songs. Regardless of the method, the menu system is not overly responsive and the wheel can be tricky to use. Bluetooth allows the ROKR E8 to connect wirelessly with compatible hands-free car kits, headphones and speakers, though Wi-Fi and 3G support are nowhere to be found, which makes the built-in web browser painfully slow.

Don't try this at home
What Japenese restaurants are near a cinema showing a film i want to see?
A regular search engine - even one with maps - will mean you have to manage several separate queries with several separate maps and pages: find cinema listsings; see what's showing at each; try to remember where they are. Then look for restaurants featuring your chosen cuisine; see where they are located; try to bring the maps together to see if they're near each other. Then go look for recommendations or menus about the restaurant.

Samsung Blue Earth Smartphone

Take a walk to Stand 8a139 in Hall 8, at the Mobile World Congress, being held in Barcelona, and you will see Samsung’s eco-friendly initiative - ‘The Blue Earth Dream’ reflected in their new products. Samsung Blue Earth Eco-Friendly Smartphone is one of them. There is plenty to talk about this mobile phone. Being the first solar powered cell phone in the world, this device has a solar panel located at its back. Samsung claims that there would be sufficient power to enable users to make a call at anytime and at any place.
The case of this phone is made up of recycled plastic from water bottles. This reduces carbon emissions and fuel consumption during the manufacturing process. The entire device and the charger too are free from harmful chemicals like Brominated Flame Retardants, Phthalate and Beryllium. Not just this, the entire packaging is done with recycled cardboard. This smartphone also has a special feature called “Eco mode”, which reduces screen brightness, turns off backlight and bluetooth, when not in use, in order to save power. Another feature that this phone offers is the “Eco-walk” function which uses a pedometer to tell the user how many steps he has walked and how much carbon dioxide emission has been reduced by his walking instead of driving. There is an indication of how many trees have been saved too.
Shaped like a shiny pebble with rounded edges, Samsung Blue Earth Touchscreen Mobile Phone features a full touch sensitive display as well. Other specifications are not known yet. However, “Three Cheers” to Samsung for this eco-friendly endeavour.
